Course Description
[15 hours]
This course meets all state range qualification requirements for concealed carry licensing (CCW). This two-day course includes handgun safety and familiarization, along with specific use of force training. At least a hundred rounds will be fired at the range, and this student will be taught to react to real-world use of force scenarios.

What are the fees for a CCW class?
The course fee is $175.00. We do offer discounts for group rates:
- Two persons in your group, 10% discount
- Three to Five persons in your group, 15% discount
- Six or more persons in your group, 25% discount
What payment types do you accept?
We accept cash, money order, check, and PayPal (plus 3% fee)
When are the fees due?
Fees are due 1 week prior to class start date.
What if I pay and cannot attend the class?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the courses and time of the instructors the fee is non-refundable. If the course is canceled by Themis TC, you will be given a full refund or at your request the fees can be rolled over to the next course being offered.
What is the fee for a CCW license?
The fee for state licensure for initial CCW is $100 and renewal is $75 which is due at the time the application submittal to the NMDPS as outlined in the packet you will receive at the beginning of class.
Where can I get my fingerprints taken?
Applicants may complete their fingerprinting at any 3M Cogent fingerprint location in the state of NM. Appointments are not required. Both new and renewing applicants will need to register at https://www.cogentid.com/nm/index_NM.htm prior to going to an electronic fingerprinting location. When the applicant arrives at the electronic fingerprinting location, they will need to provide the electronic fingerprinting technician with a registration number they received after registering online. Fees can be paid by check/money order.

What does the CCW class consist of?
The class portion of the course consists of the following materials and activities:
- Document preparation for NM State Licensure
- State and Federal laws regarding concealed carry options and ramifications
- Verbal Judo and alternative methods for defusing potential situations.
- Mental preparation and confidence building options for everyday use.
- Safe storage methods for home;e, office, auto, etc.
- Proper weapon handling options for home defense.
- The clearing of a room and avoidance of the “Fatal Funnel”
- The four levels of awareness.
- Demonstration on proper weapon presentation and range safety guidelines.
- Applicable options and or examples of self/home defense weapon related events
- Demonstrations on close quarter disarming techniques.
The practical portion of the course will consist of the following activities:
- Proper weapon presentation drills and Range commands.
- Sight picture and sight alignment tutorials and drills (Live fire).
- Weapon qualifications as per State mandate (Live fire).
- Round placement and failure drills (Live fire).
- Weapon reloading techniques.
- Malfunction drills.
- Shooting positions in regards to Kneeling, Prone, Weaver Stance, Etc (Live fire).
- Close quarter weapon drills (Live fire).
- Multiple target engagement (Live fire).
- Shoot on the move in a parallel and perpendicular presentation to the target to include proper walking and side step techniques (Live fire).
- Transition from “Strong hand” to “Weak hand” drills (Live fire).
- Class based inquiries and or hands on assistance (within reason) in regards to participant’s confidence building options and
suggestions.
How do I qualify for an additional revolver?
You can qualify for an additional revolver during the CCW class, there is an additional charge of $25.00.
What do I need to take the day of the class?
Students are reminded to bring two (2) forms of positive I.D. (NM State driver’s license and secondary). The academic portion will be held on first date of this two day course.
All participants will be required to bring:
- Proper eye protection
- Hearing protection.
- A minimum of one hundred rounds of ammunition for the weapon with which you are qualifying.
- The appropriate hip holster w/belt for same (NOTE: cross draw and shoulder holsters are NOT permitted).
- Please bring any food or beverage you may want with you to the range as this is an isolated area
Safety will be monitored and adhered to at all times as governed by the instructor(s) while at the shooting range. ***Do NOT bring firearms on Day One (classroom) ***
What if I don’t have a weapon?
Rentals available at rate of $35, must provide own ammunition, or we can purchase ammo for you and you must reimburse for ammo at the beginning of course.
